The village grew along Major street, following the route of the medieval road. Together with the Village Square, Major street is the commercial centre of the village and contains shops and establishments –some with centuries-old tradition- that offer services to the natural district of Baix Montseny.
We can highlight the 15th to 17th century houses.
Number 93 is the house of the barons of Vilardell, descendants of the legendary knight Soler de Vilardell. The legend says that a fierce dragon was terrorising the people of Sant Celoni until this knight killed it with his virtuous sword. The den where the beast used to hide can be visited and is part of a route of which you can get information in the Tourist Office. In this house we can highlight the wrought iron balcony and decorated ceramic tiles. Number 136 is Can Maties, with two granite ogee windows.
Continue down Major street, until you reach the Town Square.
